Talk Over Coffee
Grab a cup. Say what's on your mind. I'll listen.
Book a time See sessionsSometimes you don't need advice. You just need someone to hear you out, all the way to the end, without judging or interrupting or trying to fix anything. That's what this is.
Hi, I'm Mike. For years people have told me I'm the guy they end up talking to, and that they leave feeling lighter. So I made it official. You book a time, grab your coffee, and we talk about whatever's on your mind, whether it's work, family, stress, a big decision, or good news you're bursting to share.
— Mike

Before you book
Talk Over Coffee is non-clinical, peer-style listening. I'm not a licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist, social worker or medical professional, and this isn't therapy, treatment or professional advice of any kind. Sessions are for adults 18 and older who live in Michigan. If you're thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988, or call 911 if anyone is in immediate danger.
Questions people ask
Is this therapy?
No. I don't diagnose, treat or give professional advice. I listen. If you're looking for therapy, a licensed professional is the right call, and I'm happy to be just a good conversation on the side.
Will you give me advice?
Only if you ask, and even then it's just one person's take, not professional guidance. Most people find that being heard is what they needed.
What do people talk about?
Anything: work stress, family, things you can't say to the people around you, a decision you keep going back and forth on, or a win you want to celebrate with someone.
Is it private?
Yes. I don't record calls and I don't keep notes about what you share. You should know, though, that this isn't legally privileged the way therapy is. In rare cases, like a court order or someone in danger, I may not be able to keep something private.
What if I need to cancel?
You can reschedule for free up to 24 hours before your session. No-shows aren't refunded.
What if someone's in crisis?
I'll stop the session, point them to 988 or 911, and won't charge for it. Their safety comes first.
